12 Days Of ... Day 3: Richard II
After "Ghetto" I watched Alex play Hjalmar Ekdal in Ibsen's "The Wild Duck" in the West End. Peter Hall's production brought out the comedy in the play, and Alex Renton called Alex's performance "brilliantly daring".

Then, a return to Stratford, or in my case the Barbican, for Richard II. After his supporting work at the RSC his first major role here, and one I enjoyed very much.

And an afterthought. Last year the RSC sold props and costumes from various productions to raise money. The trousers Alex wore in this production were also up for sale. So I now own them.
