The Story of Christmas


From the website of the property and construction industries’ annual Christmas charity event: "The Thirty-Eighth Presentation of The Story of Christmas took place on Wednesday 16 December 2015 at St George’s Hanover Square Mayfair; featuring the Band and Fanfare Trumpeters of the Irish Guards, the Choristers and Layclerks of the Choir of St George’s Chapel Windsor Castle and a glittering cast of celebrated readers who this year included: Robert Bathurst, Mary Berry CBE, Freddie Fox, Ian Hislop, Sir Derek Jacobi CBE, Alex Jennings, Aled Jones MBE, The Rt Hon Sir John Major KG CH, Hattie Morahan, Sophie Raworth and Imogen Stubbs.

Following the service there was a Champagne Reception and live and silent auctions at The Dorchester, Park Lane."

Alex seems to be influencing the new generation of actors. John Heffernan, interviewed by The Stage, names Alex his biggest influence. John played George/ASM, in "The Habit of Art" at the National in 2009. Alex played Henry and Benjamin Britten.

Alex is said to appear in the Holocaust legal drama "Denial". The screenplay is by David Hare, and he appears with Rachel Weisz, Andrew Scott, Tom Wilkinson, Jack Lowden and Harriet Walter. Not much information just yet, This news from Deadline.com.

Shakespeare and the Law Report

Alex was one of the readers at the "Shakespeare and the Law" event in Middle Temple Hall on 16 November. With Juliet Stevenson, Samuel West and Sheila Hancock he read excerpts from Shakespeare related to the law. On the websites of Peace Brigades International there is a report.
