Hidden
Alex and Maxine Peake are the readers for this Sunday's "Words and Music". They will read poems and prose by Lewis Carroll, Edward Thomas and John Clare about secrets, lost things and encrypted meaning. There's music by Elgar, Berg, Bach and Janacek. Benjamin Britten
Alex reads "Benjamin Britten: A Life in the Twentieth Century" on BBC Radio 4 this week. It is the book of the week. Broadcasts are at 9.45 and 0.30 on weekdays. The book was written by Paul Kildea. The website has a short interview with Alex talking about his love for Britten's music, his visit to the composer's home and on playing him at the National Theatre in "The Habit Of Art".
